Our teacher is Miss Fortnum and our TA is Mrs Small.
I hope you enjoyed the half term break and are settling in to the new school term. Christmas will be here before we know it!
Our topic for this half term is ‘UK Landscapes’ and we will be exploring the physical landscape of various regions of the UK, including learning about mountains and rivers. We will also link our art and design work to this topic, by studying the landscape artist William Heaton Cooper, famous for his Lake District paintings. During our English lessons we will be building up to writing a mystery story, and later in the term will be doing some work on The Wind in the Willows as this is the pantomime we will be seeing at the end of term.
Our PE days are Wednesdays and Thursdays. Please make sure that children have appropriate clothing for PE, including: a plain t-shirt, jumper, shorts, jogging trousers and trainers/plimsolls. Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school at all times and that all items are clearly labelled. On days that girls wear tights, please ensure that they have a spare pair of socks in school.
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and collected in on a Wednesday. Homework will usually include: times tables practice, a maths task (often online using Mathletics) and an activity linked to our work in class (usually English/Topic). Spellings will be sent home separately as the children work in different groups for spelling sessions. Please continue to read with your child at home at every opportunity and remember to record any reading shared at home in your child’s reading record book.
