OFSTED Report Highlights October 2010

Wilbarston Church of England Primary School was inspected on the 26th February 2010 and we were delighted with the inspection findings which we feel accurately represent our school.
The inspectors highlighted the following points:
 
  • We are a “caring and supportive school where every pupil is valued and staff constantly strive to meet individual needs.”
  • “Rigorous safeguarding procedures” keep children safe
  • Staff are an “effective team where spirits are high”
  • There is “effective leadership, management and governance”
  • School is a “happy and harmonious place to be”
  • “Pupils are keen and enthusiastic learners” and “behaviour is good”
  • Pupils “enjoy excellent relationships with staff and concentrate well in lessons”
  • The school’s Headteacher is “highly effective”
  • The school has “an excellent relationship with parents and carers”
  • Partnerships with others is “outstanding”
  • “Standards are rising and the school is improving”
 
What the school should do to improve further:
 
  • Link Early Years outdoor learning more closely to indoor learning
  • Improve presentation so that it is consistently better across the school
  • Provide pupils with opportunities to respond to marking
