In line with our Christian values and keeping at the heart of our work that we value all God's children, at our school we take safeguarding, including child protection, very seriously. Staff are fully trained in all safeguarding matters. There are 3 safeguarding officers, Mrs Green (senior), Miss Sheen and Miss Franklin. Governors are fully trained in Safer Recruitment and all staff and volunteers are fully checked with the DBS system to ensure children come into contact with adults whose background we have investigated at school.
We have a named Governor for Safeguarding, Looked After Children and Online Safety - Mrs Clare Holden. She is trained and monitors these areas for the Governing Body. She challenges and reviews the Local Authority and MAT audits to ensure they have been carried out effectively and with due diligence. She can be contacted via the school office on 01536 771252.
Our Health and Safety Committee oversee this area of school and monitor the annual audit. The Governing Body are kept up to date with the strategic elements of this area of school via the Committee, the Chair and the Head Teacher.
Safeguarding includes anti-bullying, drugs education, sex and relationships education and wider health and safety matters. It is the responsibility of the whole school community to keep children safe. We include regular updates in our staff meetings, newsletters to parents and on our website for all to keep this a high profile in our community.
Online Safety is a key area for parents and staff to monitor. Staff are trained regularly and children have regular updates. Parents are regularly offered updates at parents information sessions and via update letters.
