Welcome to Flamingos
Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break.
In Flamingo Class we will be starting to learn about the Rainforest in our Topic session this term. We will also be linking this in with many of our English lessons. There will be a strong focus on Multiplication and Division at the start of this half term within our Maths lessons. We will also be learning about ‘Living things and their habitats within our Science lessons.
Our PE days are Tuesdays and Wednesday this half term. However, please ensure your child has their PE kit in school at all times and all items are clearly labelled. Some PE lessons will be outside so remember jogging bottoms and hoodies are also needed.
Homework will still be given out on Thursday. It usually consists of: My Maths, Reading, Spellings and a written task. Children should bring completed homework into school by the following Tuesday in order for it to be marked. Homework club will continue to run on Wednesday lunchtimes with Mrs Green.
What you can do to help:
Reading – This is a vital part of your child’s learning. Please listen to them read as well as developing their enjoyment by reading to them. The aim is to read at home to an adult at least 3 times per week.
Homework – Encourage your child to do their homework and bring it back to school every Tuesday.
PE - PE Kits are needed on Tuesday and Wednesdays.
Maths – Continue Times table practice. Additional resources and activities are available on My Maths.
